"Orion Ascending" was my first studio album. It was recorded in 1995. It is a hybrid of both my acoustic and electric styles. It takes you on a journey from earthly ambiences into deep, ethereal wanderings far from this earthly plane, and then returns back to home again. The engineer who recorded the album called it "Windham Hill meets Pink Floyd." That's not a bad description.
The album includes music performed on 6- and 12-string acoustics, a Roland G707 guitar synth, an old Yamaha classical guitar, and a strange Casio guitar made back in the late 1980s. Two songs featured tabla drummer Patrick Mundy, a student of Zakir Hussain. Patrick and I performed live for about three years under the group name "Chehalis."
It's my pleasure to offer it to you as a free download for visiting my site. Enjoy!
