It has lyrics, but it’s hard to sing it and breathe at the same time lol. It became an instrumental because of that. It was the title song of my first studio cassette back in the day. I have reworked it here with better recording gear and instrumentation. I’m especially proud of the orchestral parts and solo cello, which I performed on guitar and bass through an EHX Mel-9, respectively. This is a country-influenced instrumental, part of a project that salutes the cultures and peoples of the American West. This song features 12-string guitars, 6-string acoustic and electric guitars, fretless bass, banjitar, and mandolin. It's a nice little melody that will get stuck in your head.

This piece was improvised in the studio. It features an open-back Caraya Banjitar in Nashville tuning, capoed up a couple of frets. The second Banjitar is a highly customized no-name brand in standard tuning, capoed at the fifth fret. There is a quiet ambient drone underneath the banjos that was played on an electric guitar using long digital delays and an EHX Mel-9 pedal. A more traditional guitar instrumental that is based on and backed up by an ambient loop. After the heaviness, confusion, and despair of “2020,” I had to resolve it with something more hopeful! This is three guitars, bass, and drums over a two-guitar ambient pad. There are some intentionally “rough” textures and tones in this piece. This is an ambient piece that is based around an echo unit. The echoes create additional rhythmic figures and even little sub-melodies that I actually didn’t play. The echoes interact with each other and produce sounds that are self-generating. There are two electric guitars, acoustic guitar, and a bass guitar part intertwined here.
